Friday Favorites: Candy

Friday, September 4, 2009

I don't really eat a lot of candy, but when I do I have some select favorites that never let me down. It's only when I'm going to a movie or a show that I grab a sweet treat (especially when Sarah is in town). Here are my favorites:

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups:
This if my favorite candy of all time. I will eat any candy that has Peanut Butter in it, but I could eat about a 100 of these and it wouldn't phase me one bit.
Gummi Frogs:
My mom and dad use to bring these back for me and my sister from the candy shop in Sunriver (a resort in Oregon). I just love them so much. Sarah and I have a tradition of getting candy from the Candyland in Toys 'R' Us in Time Square before a show and I always fill my bag with these!
M&M Peanuts:
These are my moms favorite. She use to always get a big bag when we went to the drive-in to eat with the popcorn. They will always hold a special place in my heart.
Twix -Peanut Butter:
I'm a Twix girl! I won't deny it. But when they came out with this Peanut Butter kind, it was a whole new kind of love!

Dots:
I'm not really sure why, but I'm slightly addicted to Dots. It's my movie theatre treat. No matter what the movie is...I will enjoy it if I have a box of Dots.
Almond Joy:
Now I don't ever crave Almond Joys. I never go into a store and see them in the candy section and think "oh, I should buy those." Actually, I don't think I have ever purchased one. But I always eat them when they are given to me and I like them a lot. A couple years ago at a church activity they had them in the candy bowl and I grab some. When Sarah saw what I was eating she asked in pure disgust, "What are you eating?" I told her it was an Almond Joy. She then yelled in pure horror, "Trash! You're eating trash!" I couldn't help but bust up laughing. I now think about this story whenever I see an Almond Joy. Oh, I love Sarah memories.
Swedish Fish:
Sarah introduced me to the wonderful world of Swedish Fish. It's another one of my candy choices before a show.

  1. There are not many others who love DOTS in this world. Sometimes I wonder how they stay in business. There must be other closet dot lovers.

Have you tried the Fourth of July DOTS? They come in red white and blue and I've only seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond by the temple.
