Thanks, but no thanks..."Anonymous"

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Well, today I got a comment from one of those elusive "Anonymous" commenter's.  They commented on my "I guess I'm evil post."

This is the comment they left me:
Anonymous said...

uhm...yeah, as a real disney fan, i too love their soundtracks. the villains usually have one of the bests...but ...yeah...rasputin from Anastasia....not disney...its 20th century Fox.

This is the comment I have for them:

If you read the post, "Anonymous," you will notice that I say "Disney/Animated Film" playlist. I do believe that Anastasia is an "Animated Film." Is that incorrect? Please let me know if I have made an error in some way. A real Disney fan would also notice that “How Can I Refuse” is not a Disney song, but is from Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper. Thanks for reading so closely.

I promise to never be this short with people not afraid to leave their name!  Promise! We're all friends here.

I know I’m a little obsessed with the new Shrek musical. I’m not really sure why, but I am.  They released one of the songs from the show on the website today.  At first I was like, “what is this?”  But by the time it got to the chorus I thought, “Oh, that’s kinda cute.” (I’m not a fan of the little girl they have singing in the beginning.  I’m really hard on child actors/singers.  I really should be a little easier on them) By the end, I thought it was adorable.  Another point goes to Shrek!  Now I really want to see the show.  Tickets are now on sale at the box office.  Maybe I should stop by on the way home and get a ticket.  I was supposed to see if with my mom and sister during Christmas, but they decided they wanted to see White Christmas instead.  I hope I can’t get tickets to White Christmas and then we will have to see Shrek.  I’m mean.

Yearbook Yourself!

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Over the past few days people have been showing me cool sites where you can have a little fun with pictures. I’m sure many of you have already discovered the wonders of such sites, but I’m having fun playing with them.

Before:

I found this site via this blog (thanks Heather) and can’t stop playing with it. I have always wondered what I would look like with different hair color and now I can get an idea. I’m also not really a makeup girl, so this was fun to try different colors and not have to worry about look ridiculous in front of anybody. Fun Fun Fun!

People at work were playing with this site early in the week. It’s called yearbook yourself. Once again I really enjoy messing around on it. (Years: 1952 and 1960)

What a wonderful day…

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Today was an amazingly fun day! I got up early and went to the gym (which I always really enjoy) and then went on a little roommate outing. Keila, Ashley, and I went to Governors Island to ride bikes (for free!). It was so much fun. I haven’t ridden a bike in years! The weather was absolutely beautiful, so we took lots of pictures and enjoyed being outside before it starts to get cold. This has to be one of my new favorite activities. I’m just upset that I discovered it at the end of summer. I guess it will give me something to look forward to next summer. It was really fun exploring Governors Island. There are some really amazing vacant buildings there. Now the nerd in me has a need to know the history of the island.

What could make this already amazing day more wonderful? Shake Shack! This is a place I have wanted to go to for a long time. I always hear how amazing it is, but have never had the opportunity to go. Both Ashley and Keila like the Shake Shack, so were totally willing to go. I will admit that it was a very good hamburger! Well worth the hour wait in line.

I also got to see all four of the waterfalls that are up for the summer. All in all, it was a great day out with the roommates!

I love this!

I saw this commercial at work today and I just fell in love with it. You gotta love the Ad Council!

Flowers for Me?

Sunday, September 14, 2008

It’s kind of a tradition that my mom sends flowers on my birthday. There was only ever been one exception, and that was when I turned 19 (She sent a plant). I took care of that plant for four years, but ended up leaving it with my mom when I came to New York. My mom figured it was time for another plant (to brighten up my desk at work). So, I was very surprised to find this new little plant on my desk on Friday. Thanks, Mom! I just need to come up with a good name for it.
I also got flowers from my roommates. It was a pleasant surprised to see them on my way out in the morning. It made my day. I tried to take a picture of me with the flowers, but I couldn’t get a good one. Then I started messing around and started taking pictures with the mirrors on my vanity. I ended up with a bunch of ridiculous pictures. Here are a few of them. Good Times!

I would do anything for you, Sarah!

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Yeah, that’s right. Not only did I get a scone from Alice’s Tea Cup, but I got a cupcake too! All in honor of you, Sarah! (and my b-day)

I haven’t had so many sweets in such a short period of time. Last night, Ashley, Kort, Leah, Christine, and I went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday. Even though it was raining, we went to Little Italy to have dinner outside. We’re just hardcore like that. Little Italy has become my favorite new place. I just love going there! We then went up to Rice to Riches. I could eat that all day every day.

Christine and I went to brunch this morning at Alice’s Tea Cup. I had two crapes packed with sugar and then bought a pumpkin scone and a red velvet cupcake. (Sorry it wasn’t vanilla with white frosting and sprinkles, Sarah. But your sister converted me to red velvet). I feel like I have eaten my body weight in sugar. No sweets for awhile for me.

I love my job and Mister Softee...

Monday, September 8, 2008

And yet another reason why I love my work...Ice cream! Last Thursday two Mister Softee trucks came and parked in the court yard outside my work. We all had unlimited ice cream for two hours. I was in heaven. I have never had an ice cream cone from a Mister Softy before, so this was a very special day. I’m a changed woman! I now understand Korts love for these ice cream trucks. It was so good. I really do love my job!

First Trip to IKEA

Sunday, September 7, 2008

-->
Yesterday, I went on a little shopping outing with my roommates. We went to the Target in Brooklyn to stock up on some needed supplies. I loved it. It felt like school shopping again. Ashley and I then made our way out to IKEA. Those of you in New York know that we had terrible weather yesterday, so this was quite the trip. It was rainy and windy all afternoon. After several leaky/disgusting subway stops and a bumpy bus ride, we made it to the store. I have never been to a store like IKEA. It was quite the experience.
Unfortunately I had a headache, so I wasn't totally into it. In fact, by the end of our visit I was really really sick. We made it back to the subway station and back into Manhattan, but I felt terrible the whole time. We then had to wait in a hot subway station for about 20 minutes to transfer to another train. When one finally came, we got up to get on and I threw up! I felt bad we missed the train, but I but I did feel better.
This is my second throw up experience in Manhattan, and I will admit that it sucks. Throwing up in general sucks, but it’s taken to a whole new level when you’re 40 min from home and you have to get on the subway. Luckily I was a little more prepared this time (thanks to an empty Target bag). Ashley was really sweet, but I feel bad that I wasn’t the best shopping partner. I hope I get to go back to IKEA when I’m in ideal health and the weather is a little better. We shall see.

P.S. I really want this chair. Does anyone want to buy it for me? I think it would go perfect in my room.

Birthday Dinner with Kort

Monday, September 1, 2008

This is a little late, but last Tuesday was Korts Birthday. She turned the big 21. We met up after work and went to Little Italy for dinner. I love going to dinner in Little Italy. The food is so good and the ambiance is perfect. We had a good time catching up on the latest happenings, and eating delicious pasta. After dinner we went to a nearby bakery and got a few treats, a birthday cannoli for Kort being one of them. It was a very nice night. I always know I'm going to have a good time when I step out with Kort.
