New Year’s Resolutions!

Thursday, January 3, 2008

Ok, I’m going to take my resolutions seriously this year. You know…pick things that I can actually get done in a year’s time. I have thought long and hard about it and have come up with a list of a few little treasures that I can work on.
  • Watch every episode of LOST the night they are aired. (I’m tired of watching them online!)
  • Find the best Cheesecake in New York (This will be expensive and take a long time, but I feel that it is worth it. If anyone has any suggestions of a place that makes good cheesecake please let me know)
  • See Wicked! (My quest to see Wicked is a long and tragic tale. When I finally get to see this show I will tell one and all this sad story. My goal is to see one play a month. This shouldn’t be too hard considering I usually see several during a month’s time)
  • Learn to ice skate (My friend and I are planning on taking lessons. We better! I really want to learn).
  • Take a cooking class. (The sad truth is that I don’t really know how to cook. I’m an expert at grilled cheese and quesadilla’s but that’s about it. I also think it would be a great way to meet new people)
  • A pottery class would be fun to take as well. I guess I just want to take some fun classes where I can learn new things.
  • Read! (I have a list of classic books and I want to read about 10 of them by the end of the year. I really love to read but don’t really find the time to do it. I also need to read the Twilight series. I have way too many friends trying to get me to read them. I just need to do it and get it over with)
  • Decorate my room. (You may think that this shouldn’t be a year long goal, but it is. I have been in the city for over 6 months and my room still looks like a prison cell - bars, white walls, and a bunk bed. I don't know what crime I have committed, but my sentence is up!)
  • Go to the gym five times a week (I actually already do this (usually), but I thought I should put it on here so I keep doing it. I love the gym! Maybe I can lose a little weight. You never know.)
I know I have a lot of things to do, but I think they are simple and achievable. They are all fun things that I know I will enjoy. Wish me luck. Once I complete one I will let you know.

  1. You HAVE to read the twilight series! The masses are doing it for a reason! My life will never be the same. Just to give you a good idea of how wonderful they are, Ethan has a jealousy complex of the main character's love interest. haha.

  2. I just finished Twilight. You can fight Kortlyn for it.

  3. So I had to throw in two cents on the Cheesecake quest. My boss is a celebrity chef and I asked her about the best CC in NYC. She suggested these places:
    1) Eileen's @ Cleveland & Kenmare
    2) Vicco in the 80's or 90's and Madison, very creamy & American
    3) The Palm, creamy, but not gummy.

Also, I don't like cheesecake but I tried some at Peter Luger in Brooklyn and I think I have now been converted!

Best of luck, keep me updated on your findings!
