Newport: Day TWO...Newport Pier, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Sea Hag

Monday, September 4, 2017

On day two in Newport we went for a quick walk on the Newport Pier. There were a lot of people fishing and crabbing, which was really entertaining for Cohen. He loved going up to everyone and asking them a million questions. He's such a social little guy.

After the pier, we met a friend of ours (Amy) at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Cohen loves aquariums. This one had an amazing underwater tunnel that allowed us to see some great sharks. Cohen really got into it, which is always fun.

We then headed to the Sea Hag (Depoe Bay) for lunch. I had a crab louie that looked like a crab. It was fun :) Really I just got it for the amazing shrimp and crab on it! It was a great lunch catching up with Amy.

We took a few pictures after lunch. I LOVE Depoe Bay! It's just so beautiful.

A quick trip to the New York Aquarium

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

Cohen took a tumble on Monday and hurt his arm. It's not broken (YAY!), but it's really sore and swollen. He won't lift it up or use it, but we do know he can move it. :) I decided that the playground probably wouldn't be a good option for him, so Jeff suggested we finally make the trip to the New York Aquarium. I heard that it's under construction and there's not a lot going on there right now, but Cohen got excited about the idea of seeing a shark, so we went.

Rumors were right and there's really not a lot there. Luckily it was part of our WCS membership, so we didn't have to pay anything (Once again, thanks Grandma and Grandpa A)! Cohen did enjoy the "temporary" shark tank and the sea lion show. It's going to be really cool once they have the construction done. Cohen and I will have to make the trek back down there in 2018!

Cohen, Penguins, and Sharks...oh, my!

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

I love when family comes to visit. They are great at getting me out of the house and doing fun new things. When Kari was visiting last month we went to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. Jeff has told me about this aquarium several times, but I have never taken the 1.5 hour trip down there until now.

It is a nice aquarium (a little expensive for what it is in my opinion), but I think Cohen really enjoyed looking at all the fish. True to previous zoo/aquarium trips, Cohen still loves Penguins! He also really liked the Shark tank. They have a tube you can walk through and Cohen totally loved it! I think I will go back in the Fall when there are less people there, so Cohen can run around and not get trampled.

Viva Las Vegas...again

Monday, December 17, 2012

So, I realized that I never posted these pictures. Oh, well!

Jeff and I went to Las Vegas in October for a conference. It was a good time!

We stayed at the Encore, which was amazing (but expensive). Luckily Jeff got a discount because of the conference so it wasn't too bad :) Jeff didn't really care for the decor, but I kind of liked it! It was very red :)  The restaurants were really good too. I had fried chicken and waffles for the first time and I have to admit I still dream about it! It was so amazing!

The Battistuz joined us from California. It was really nice seeing them again. We went to the aquarium at the Mirage and the Stratosphere. Of course we played a game of pinochle in the hotel room. I just love playing pinochle with the Battistuz. I just learn so much.

We went to the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur with the Lomurro's. It my was my first time at a show/dinner like this and I loved it! Jeffrey surprisingly enjoyed it too.
