Well I started my quest for the best cheesecake in New York. This was going to be an easy thing, but after telling Sarah about it, it became a complex research project. Thanks Sarah! Of course finding the best cheesecake in New York was always going to be very subjective. Everyone likes different cheesecake. I just wanted to know what my best cheesecake was. I think I will achieve this goal, but it’s not going to be that black and white. Sarah insists that I have several categories that I rate cheesecake on. Then the one with the best score will be the titled Erika’s Best New York Cheesecake. A honorable title, I know. I don’t know how this will work but we will see. Here are the categories that Sarah and I came up with as we shared the first cheesecake of the project: texture, flavor (pleasing taste), presentation, price, and size. All of these are on a one to five scale. What do you think? Any suggestions? Any needed categories?
The cheesecake that started it all was a delightful little treat from a small restaurant in hells kitchen. The restaurant was Breeze (9th avenue between 46th and 45th ) a French-thai fusion place. Sarah and I happened upon it and both loved the restaurant. They serve their cheesecake deep fried! It was amazing! It was still frozen in the middle, so Sarah insisted that we dock it points for that. We both thought that it was very very good cheesecake. Probably the most unique cheesecake I have ever had. We’re already planning on going back to Breeze but only after we go to the place across the street. They have a Ricotta Cheesecake. I can’t wait! Molly also gave me three places the try! Thanks Molly! My cheesecake tasting buddy and I can’t wait!
Well, you find the delicious cheesecake and then send me some!
