"Start of Something New"

I guess you can say I'm one of those people that move to New York and then claim it as their own. I know I'm not a native New Yorker, but I really wish I was. I love it here so much and can't imagine living anywhere else. I'm living a childhood dream here, and having the time of my life.

I come from a small town in Washington (yes very small, there isn't even a stoplight). I enjoyed my small town experience, but knew that I would love the big city more. My parents really don't like that fact that I'm so far from home, but they are very supportive. I'm lucky to have such great parents.

I've been in the city for five months and have done everything stereotypical that one can do in New York. The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Broadway plays, and the works. And to tell you the truth, I have loved every minute of it. Unfortunately I have already become annoyed by the many tourists that happen upon the city constantly. I now have a trained eye, and can spot a tourist a mile away. I know that's not very impressive, because tourists stand out and basically have the Sims diamonds over them as they play in the city.

As I look back on photos from the past five months, I've realized that most of them come from the subway. What is up with that? I guess it's because we spend so much time traveling that it's one way for us to be entertained. I mean who doesn’t like taking pictures of themselves. Luckily I spend so much time with Sarah, because she is the master of holding the camera perfectly to get everyone including her in the picture. I think I will post all my subway pictures over the next few weeks. It will give you something to look forward to I guess.

It looks like it will be another busy week at work, but I'm also interviewing at another company this week too. I'm really nervous. I don't have a lot of experience interviewing, and I really want to make a good impression. I'll keep you updated.
