Thanks for coming for a visit Dad!

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Life is still busy (always). Dad came for a little visit last weekend. We saw a couple of shows, ate out a lot, saw Avatar, and tried to keep dry. Poor Dad...he came on one of the rainiest weekends we have had in a long time. We still had fun! We were able to do almost everything he wanted to do. The Empire State Building was on the list, but since the weather was so lousy we decided not to go. Maybe next time Dad!

I'm taking it easy this weekend. After two weekends in a row of guest I found there was a lot for me to catch up on. Especially considering I'm going to Disneyland next week! Yes, that's right...I'm taking the six hour flight to the happiest place on earth! I'm going with Kari and two of my cousins. I'm super excited.

After that it's time to get down to business. There's a lot going on right now and I really need to concentrate on an assortment of kind of important things. I'll try to keep you updated.

An Alice in Wonderland Day...

Monday, March 8, 2010

Sarah and I decided to have an Alice in Wonderland themed day. We woke up and caught the 10am showing of the new Alice in Wonderland movie at the imax. I really liked it. Yeah, it was dark and weird, but I found it very entertaining.

We then headed over to one of my favorite places for lunch - Alice's Tea Cup. We had tea, scones, and sandwiches. It was delightful. :)

We then looked at a few hat shops that were in the neighborhood. We tried a few on, but didn't find anything we wanted to buy.

Next, we took a lovely stroll in the park. Of course we made sure to pass the Alice in Wonderland statue.

While walking down Lexington we noticed that Bloomingdale's had an Alice in Wonderland window display. How perfect!

After doing some light shopping, we ate dinner at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station. Yes, we even ate oysters. Well, we each ate one. Sarah ended up getting the crab and I got shrimp.

Oh!...the number one plan for the day was to always be running late. :) It was a good day in the city.

it's the dawn of a new era...

You may remember that I asked Santa for a big girl bed this year. Well, Santa didn't come through on the bed. Actually, he didn't come through on a lot of things :( But it's ok, because I now have a little over 10 months to forgive him :)

So, I took matters into my own hands and bought myself a bed when I moved! I love it! I realized when I was in the store picking it out that I have been sleeping on a twin since 2003! Way too long! I'm an adult! I have a job! I pay bills! I deserve a big girl bed!

I soon realized that with a new bed comes new bedding so I got to buy a new comforter! I don't think it's really me, but I totally love it for some reason! I knew I wanted my room to be light blue and red and this just worked too perfectly.

I will be sending more pics of the room once I get it the way I like it. I have been in the apt for only two weeks and I have already rearranged the furniture twice :) Hahaha, I think it's because it's the only thing I feel that I have control of in my life.

A room with a view (well, a better one)...

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Yes, I'm still alive. Sorry, for my lack of blogging. Life has been super busy lately and I don't think it's ever going to slow down :(

I promise to post some updates in the near future (maybe this weekend).

The big news is that my roommates and I moved at the end of last month. We moved uptown about six blocks to a bigger and better apartment. An upgrade in so many ways! I will post about our fabulous place later, but for now I will leave you with my new view. The first pic is the view from my old apartment and the second is my new view. UPGRADE! Jealous? I'm so excited. The last three pics were taken during our little snow storm on Wednesday. I got to work from home :)

Christmas in the Northwest

Saturday, December 26, 2009

It's been a long day, but a good one!

Presents in the morning! Dad got a PlayStation 3 (He's such a big kid) and Kari got Rock Band. Mom got lots of stuff (precious moments Nativity Scene, dvd recorder, lots of books, and a lot of hair stuff). I got a backpacking tent and cooking utensils. Santa was very good to us this year!

We then headed down to Grandma and Grandpas for dinner with the family. Tiffany and Zack were there with their two-year-old daughter Emma. She's so cute and provided hours of entertainment. It was really nice having a kid around for Christmas! Note the hot Christmas vest! It's a new tradition to wear tacky chrismats attire to Christmas dinner. Good times!

We then ended back home to play with our new toys. We ended the evening with a nice little "Beetles" jam sessions. It was a good day with the family!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Friday, December 25, 2009

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays,
'Cause no matter how far away you roam,
When you pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze,
For the holidays, you cant beat home, sweet home.

(even if you are going home to sleep on an air-mattress because your mom turned your room into her craft room)
