Sometimes you want to go....Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.

I love it when family comes to visit. Mom and Kari came out last Saturday, September 18 for a little visit. We started the trip off right with brunch at Freds.

After doing some wedding dress fabric shopping we went to Serendipity for dinner. Kari has been wanting to go to Serendipity since her first trip to New York, and we finally made it happen this time! I so love Serendipity.

We went down to New Jersey for dinner at Jeffrey's house on Sunday. We had a fun little train ride down there and then went to church with Jeffrey. It was a good day :)

Monday, we headed to Boston. Due to traffic concerns in Manhattan, Mom and Kari left for Boston around noon and I jumped on a train after work and met them about half to Boston. It was a fun road trip.

We spent all day Tuesday in Boston. We took one of the hop on hop off tours. It was nice because we learned a lot about Boston and didn't have to worry about driving in the city or taking the subway. After riding the bus for awhile we jumped of and had lunch at Cheers.

We ended up back on the bus and road around until dinner time. We ended up having dinner at the Union Oyster House which is the oldest restaurant in the United States.

We finished our Boston trip with a Red Sox game! It was fun going to Fenway to see a game. Sorry, I'm still a Yankee fan!

Dad joined us Thursday and became the designated photographer. Since I don't have his pictures I will finish this later :)

November 13, 2010 - London, England

Friday, September 3, 2010

We are getting married on November 13th, 2010 in the London England Temple. According to theknot.com that's 70 days from today (Yikes!)

The game plan is to have a small civil ceremony in New Jersey on November 12 (in London you have to be civilly married before you can be sealed in the temple) and then take the red eye over to London and get sealed that evening. I'm really excited to be going to London for the first time. It has been a dream of mine for along time and I still can't believe it's finally coming true :)

There will be an open house at my parents house in Washington during Thanksgiving weekend and then another one in New Jersey the following weekend.

There's lots to do and not much time to do it in, but I feel like we have gotten a lot done over the past three weeks.

August 13th, 2010 - A Night to Remember

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

So, I know this is very late, but I thought I would post about it anyways. In case some of you don't know I got engagement a couple of weeks ago.

And here is how it happened...

Jeff picked me up from the train after work and surprised me with a little trip to a day spa. We both got massages and then I got a mani/pedi. It was a lovely surprise after a long week. We then headed back to his place to change for dinner. After I walked into the house I made my way to the living room to slip off the little slippers they had given me at the day spa. I hadn't even removed the slippers when I noticed that the dining room table was covered in flowers, rose petals, and candles. By the time I had made it to the table for a closer inspection Jeff was right beside me and down on one knee and...he asked me to marry him!

We then headed over to Restaurant Nicholas for dinner. Jeff had arranged for a special menu for us for the evening which included lobster (one of my favorite dishes). He also designed a special drink for us to celebrate the occasion. It was truly an amazing evening and one I will remember forever.

I know this is a little late...

So, life is still really busy. I feel like things are finally starting to slow down...which makes me happy. :) Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.

Jeff came out for a little visit during the last few days I was in Washington. We spent Saturday up in Seattle. We went to Pike Street Market, saw Despicable Me, and then ended the day at the Mariners vs Yankee game. It was a long day, but a lot of fun.

Fish and Chips...

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

One of the items on my list of things to do while in Washington was go down to Astoria and get some fish and chips from the Bowpicker. I'm not the biggest fan of fish and chips, but I could eat these fish and chips everyday for the rest of my life (probably not the most healthy way to live).

We then went over to my parents little beach property. I've only been there once before, so it was nice to see all the updates they have made.
We then finished the night with seeing Eclipse. Dad went to see Knight and Day. He didn't want to see Eclipse. I wonder why?

Hellooooo Lincoln!

Monday, June 28, 2010

Jeff and I took a little road trip to DC to see Kari play with the Clark College concert band. I haven't been to DC since the 8th grade, so it was kind of fun going back for a little visit. Kari played in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday morning. It was fun seeing Kari play and chatting with her. After we visited with Kari for a little while we went out to lunch and then did a little shopping at my favorite store....Tiffany's! I bought some really cute pearl earrings. It was a successful trip :)

Next I'm off to Washington for a visit with the family! I'm so excited for the long break.

I'm still here...I've been soooo busy...

Once again I have gone MIA on my blog. I'm so sorry! A lot has been going on as of late and I haven't had much time to blog. So, here's a little snip-it of what I have been up to.

Memorial Day weekend I went to Bermuda with Jeff. I have never been before and all I can say is that I hope we make this a yearly tradition. Maybe not on Memorial Day next time. It was a little more expensive than it usually is since it was a holiday. I love Bermuda and I can't wait till I get to go back. It was probably the most relaxing vacation I have ever been on. Even though I got sick on one of the days, it still was an amazing trip. The pics below are of the city of Hamilton (where our hotel was) and of our hotel (the pretty pink building)

And last weekend I went to Chicago (Another place I have never been). Mom says I have turned into the little world traveler. :) I went with Jeff and two of his siblings and their spouses. It was a lot fun meeting some of his fam. We ate really good food and explored the city. I've been so lucky with two great trips in the past month.(Below is a pic of me and Jeff looking into the Cloud Gate sculpture in Millennium Park)

My next trip is a quick day trip to DC. Kari is playing in front of the Lincoln Memorial with her school band. I'm really excited to go down for the day to see her play and hopefully have lunch with her.

I'm also going home to LaCenter for the 4th of July. I was supposed to go on a backpacking trip with my dad, but because of all the rain they've been having it doesn't look like we will get to go. I'm still excited to go home and have a little break. Jeff will be joining me for the last part of the trip. The parents are taking us on a little day trip to Seattle to see a Mariners game. I promise to post pics of the trip home and of DC.

A night out with the girls...

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Friday night Kort, Jen, and I met up for a little girls night out. We went out to dinner and then for a walk in High Line park. I love High Line park! I really need to make more trips down there. I generally end up walking in the park at night, so I would really like to go back during the day. Maybe that will be a goal for this summer. We passed a rather weird gallery while trying to find a place for dessert. It was so weird!
We then found a Mister Softee truck and stopped for a little treat. It was truly a lovely evening.

It's that time of year again....

It's Tony season! I love this time of year. I'm usually pretty good at catching the shows as them come out so that I'm prepared for making Tony predictions, but I have fallen way behind this year. I have about 14 shows I need to see before June 13. Do you think I will be able to do it? Of course I will!

I have seen four shows over the past two weeks and have plans to see four more this week. It's going to be a busy but good week. I will be seeing Fela! with Jeff on Tuesday night. It's nominated for best musical and has 10 additional Tony nominations. We saw La Cage Aux Folles last Tuesday and both loved it. It's such a good show. It's also nominated for 11 Tonys.

There are a lot of shows to see and I'm excited so excited to see them!
